Jacinta Overton

Owner and lead designer

I came to lighting as an electrician who kept going back after dark to see the work.

Overton is a small firm of eight, and I lead the dusk walk on every job. I write the plan, and the crew that wires it works from the plan I wrote. I like a yard that looks lit and not lit up: the path you can follow, the tree you notice from the kitchen window, and nothing pointed at the neighbors.

Work we take on

  • Landscape lighting design
  • Outdoor circuits, outlets and controls
  • Repairing older lighting systems

License

  • Licensed and insured; the license number is in the footer

  • Plans written and signed by the lead designer

The crew

Who is in your yard

Eight people in all. These three are the ones you will meet.

  • Jacinta Overton

    Owner and lead designer

Leads the dusk walk and writes the plan.

  • Javier Tovar

    Lead electrician

Runs the install crew and the night aim. Speaks Spanish.

  • Ruth Quinn

    Project coordinator

Books the dusk walks and keeps the plan, permit and schedule in one place.

How the crew works

Days for digging, nights for aiming

The install happens in daylight, with a van, cable reels and a plan on a clipboard. The last visit is after dark: we aim and dim every light with you in the yard, then clear the site before we leave.

  • Daytime install, from the written plan

  • A night visit for aiming and dimming, booked ahead

  • The site cleared before we leave

A plain dark grey cargo van with the side door open and cable reels inside
